P&L League: who's actually up on the season?
Every group has someone who claims they're up. A P&L League settles it. Members keep betting with their own bookmaker, upload each slip, and CommunityBet turns those slips into one table ranked by profit, loss and return on stake.
How it runs
The league is a shared record, not a pot. Nobody stakes anything through CommunityBet.
- Each member places bets independently with their own licensed bookmaker
- They upload the slip — stake, odds and kick-off time are read automatically
- Results settle the bet as a win, loss, void or partial return
- The table ranks members by P&L and return on stake for the league period
Why return on stake matters more than profit
Raw profit rewards whoever bets the most. Return on stake — profit as a share of everything staked — means a careful £5 bettor can top the table ahead of someone firing in £50 a week. Both numbers sit side by side so the group can argue about either.
Keeping it honest
A league only works if the record is trusted. Bets must be uploaded before the first kick-off on the slip, late uploads are labelled as such, and every edit to a bet is kept in an audit trail the group can see. Members can flag a bet they think is wrong.
Results League or P&L League
A Results League scores picks on points — 3 for a correct call, 0 for a miss — and is best for groups who want a level playing field. A P&L League scores real money staked and returned. Pick the one that matches the argument you're trying to settle, or run both.
What the group sees
A leaderboard with P&L, return on stake, win rate and current streak. Tap a member to see their bet history, biggest win and worst run. An activity feed shows new uploads and settlements so the banter has somewhere to live.
Not a bookmaker, not a stake
CommunityBet never accepts a bet, holds a stake or moves money. It is the admin layer over what your group already does, and every bet is placed independently with a licensed provider of the member's choosing.
Common questions
Every member places their own bets with their own bookmaker, then uploads the slip to the league. CommunityBet reads the stake and the odds, tracks the result and ranks everyone by profit and loss over the league period.
No. Because the table ranks on P&L and return on stake, a member betting £5 a week can beat someone betting £50. Groups can still agree a stake range if they want the table closer.
Bets have to be uploaded before the first kick-off in the slip. Anything uploaded later is marked as a late upload, and any edit to a settled bet is recorded so the group can see it.
