Group bet money and payment tracking that ends the chasing

Nobody minds losing a fiver. Everyone minds being asked for it four times. Money is the single most common reason a group bet quietly dies, so CommunityBet treats the ledger as a first-class part of the record — while never touching a penny of it itself.

Set the group amount, not the individual amount

The mistake most groups make is agreeing a per-person figure. Agree the weekly group stake instead and let the split do the work: a £30 week across six members is £5 each, and the same £30 week under 'losers pay' with three losers is £10 each.

Three splits that cover almost every group

Pick the structure that suits how your group thinks about fairness. You can change it between weeks if the group votes to.

  • All pay — everyone contributes an equal share of the weekly total
  • Losers pay — last week's losers fund this week's stake
  • Take turns — one member funds the week, then the rotation moves on

Confirmed payments, not 'pretty sure I sent it'

Members pay each other exactly as they always have. What changes is the record: a payment is logged against a specific week and confirmed by an admin, so 'paid' means somebody actually checked. The outstanding list is the whole enforcement mechanism you need.

P&L derived from bets, not from the ledger

The two are deliberately separate. Profit and loss comes from what each settled bet staked and returned, so contributions arriving late never distort the group's performance figures. Two £30 bets, both lost, is £60 down — whether or not everyone has settled up.

Cash-out policy, agreed in advance

Early payouts cause more friction than losses. Let the group vote on the policy — never cash out, or only above an agreed figure — and record early payouts distinctly when they happen so both the ledger and the league table reflect reality.

One thing CommunityBet will never do

It will never accept a bet, hold a stake, or process a payment. It is admin software: a shared, honest record of a thing your group is doing anyway. 18+ only, and if betting stops being fun, BeGambleAware.org is the right next click.

Common questions

Does CommunityBet take payments?

No. CommunityBet never holds or moves money. Members pay each other however they already do — bank transfer, cash, whatever — and the group records the payment so the ledger is up to date.

How is the per-person amount worked out?

You set one weekly group amount and choose the split. On 'all pay' the total is divided evenly. On 'losers pay' it's divided between last week's losers only. On 'take turns' one member covers the week and the rotation moves on.

What if someone doesn't pay?

The ledger shows exactly who is outstanding and for which week, which is usually enough. Payments are confirmed by an admin so the record can't be quietly marked paid.
